STEVE TURNER
Chief Turner served 30 years in the fire service and 25 years in law enforcement for both County and State Agencies working investigations, public safety issues, and threat assessments; as well as provided crisis communications planning and response statewide.
He served as a Fire Battalion Commander of 10 Engine, Truck, Haz Mat and Medic companies, instructor, fire investigator, hazardous materials captain, public information officer, grant reviewer, and was loaned as an executive to the California Governor’s Office of Homeland Security.
As a law enforcement officer, Steve served in assignments to: patrol, special operations, background investigations, academy instructor, tactical bike team member, and protective security detail for elected officials.
With a background that crosses the disciplines of fire, law enforcement, public affairs and non-government organizations he has been able to blend the strengths of these disciplines to support comprehensive solutions to the challenges faced by clients.
In 2010 Captain Turner was awarded a “Commendation of Valor” for saving a life in the Arden-Arcade area. In 2008, he was named the State Information Officers Council’s “Public Information Officer of the Year” for his work in public information service to the state of California and the Governor’s Office of Homeland Security. Mr. Turner was recognized by the American Red Cross with their “Henri Dunant Leadership Award” for his work as the Chairman of the Gold Country Region Chapter. Mr. Turner served as the Rotary International District Governor for the Sacramento Region in 2024-2025
Mr. Turner received his bachelor’s degree in Management from St. Mary’s College of California. He is a POST instructor for emergency management, counter terrorism, explosives, fire investigation, hazardous materials, and critical incidents. He holds several state qualification certificates and lectures before university and business groups.
